Autism myth busting Part 1:

Autism is a superpower

Autism brings challenges along with its strengths. Accommodations and supports may be needed to enable everyone to thrive, and the image of autism as a ‘superpower’ can mean pressure to do without them.

Autism means poor communication

Evidence indicates that communication between autistic peers is effective, while communication between typical and non-typical neurotypes can lead to misunderstandings. Finding your own tribe, those who align with your experience of the world, reduces the likelihood of mis-communication and the anxiety that can result.
